  Overview

Welcome to Suffolk County Francis S. Gabreski Airport.

Gabreski Airport is a noise sensitive airport with the critical areas southwest, southeast and east of the airport.

When flying into Gabreski Airport please use quite arrival and departure techniques and avoid low flight over residential areas. Whenever possible maintain 2500ft MSL or higher over residential areas and schools.

Francis S. Gabreski Airport Air Traffic Control Tower Operates from 7am to 11pm daily.

  Curfews

Francis S. Gabreski Airport has a voluntary curfew between 11pm and 7am.

All operations are strongly discouraged between 11pm and 7am.

If operations must be conducted during the voluntary night curfew period, Runway 24 is the preferred runway.

  Arrivals

Arrivals to Runway 6 overfly a critical noise sensitive area. It is requested that aircraft arriving to Runway 6 remain as high as possible on approach.

  Departures

Departures on Runway 24 are requested to fly runway heading to 2,000’ before making a turn.

  Preferential Runways

Aircraft Categories: A, B, C, D & E  |  Arrival Only

Runway 24 is the preferred runway.

  Reverse Thrust

Operators should avoid using thrust reversers on landing when able.

  Pattern Altitudes

ALL VALUES ARE MSL (FEET)



The traffic pattern altitude for jet aircraft is 1500 MSL.

The traffic pattern altitude for single and multi-engine fixed-wing aircraft is 1100 ft MSL.

  Intersection Takeoffs

Jet aircraft are discouraged from using intersection departures on Runway 24.

  APU Use

The use of APU’s is strongly discouraged during our voluntary curfew hours which are between the hours of 11pm and 7am.

  Engine Runup

Maintenance runups are strongly discouraged between 11pm to 7am.

  Flight Training

Single & Multi-engine Fixed-Wing Aircraft
Pilots are asked to refrain from conducting touch and go’s between 10pm and 9am.

Pilots are limited to 3 touch and go’s per aircraft.

Avoid flying over noise sensitive area 1 mile west of runway 1/19 the preferred runway is runway 24.

Avoiding extending your pattern to the south over noise sensitive areas for spacing. take spacing to the north side of the pattern

Keep spacing tight to the runway and avoid long low approaches




Jet Aircraft
Pilots are asked to avoid low approaches.

Pilots are limited to 3 touch and go’s per aircraft.

Follow published missed approach procedures for runway 24 to avoid noise sensitive areas.

Gabreski airport has a noise mitigation work group that meets 2 times a year to review our noise abatement procedures and make appropriate recommendations on procedures we can add to better our program.
